Come Sit By Me A While: My Sweet Feathered Friend.
Well it has certainly been a while since I last invited you for a cuppa and a chat ; far too long to be honest!!
Anyway a pleasure to be here today and to share a little more of my life with you.
However before we settle help yourselves to your tea or coffee and also one of these cup cakes or Cherry cakes.
Little ones having fun.
Last Saturday I had my grandchildren Krystal, Riley and Lucas over ; after having lunch they decided they would like to do some cooking so this was just what we did.
Oh how wonderful it was to have the chatter of little ones fill the house and also all my cooking utensils whether needed or not were out all over the kitchen . How wonderful indeed hence today's cakes !!!!
As many of you know I work two shifts daily caring for two wonderful youngsters with special needs on their journey to and fro School ;the same school as it happens that I attended many moons ago .
The house where I grew up in was just behind this school but the road we used to get to the school didn't take us past the house and it was virtually out of sight. However one day around a year or so ago we were asked to go to the back of the special needs unit and we had to drive past this house; it was strange as I hadn't seen it since I was small. However I kept my thoughts to myself.
Again around three months ago we needed to get to the back of the unit once again but this time I was totally astounded ; there was no house there ;the large garden , garage and absolutely everything had been bulldozed to the ground ;not a blade of grass was left standing ; it was simply a site of stone and rubble. Again I hid my astonishment and carried on with my day as usual with no one else the wiser.
That night after Dai came in from work I told him and as I shared my shock I felt a surge of well being take over !!!
Today I know that the community where I grew up had got together and planned this but due to certain clauses it could not be carried out until now .
I cannot for the life of me put into words how truly wonderful it is to know that not a stone has been left standing ; the place where so much awful and dreadful abuse took place has been wiped off the face of the earth.
I thank these wonderful people from the bottom of my heart for what they have done for me and also in the memory of my beautiful and so musical talented sister Val.
God bless them all !!!!
Val with all the prizes she won for her beautiful singing voice and myself and my beloved Lassie.
Before sharing my poems I would like to share a little memory with you all !!
There were two majestic pillars at the entrance to the house and on these pillars were two ornamental white doves .
Despite everything I have always loved white doves and you may have noticed that I very often include them in my images.
Deep into the nearby Commins I would walk my Beagle Lassie and there was a clearing where I would sit and read my latest story book while Lassie would happily forage through the nearby thicket as happy as could be !!!
A little further on there was a tiny cottage in which lived Mr and Mrs Poole ; a lovely couple who I would chat to for ages and in their garden there were always some beautiful white doves and I have always connected these precious birds with happiness and beauty.
Right now onto my poems and I hope you all enjoy !!!
A celestial grace
a virginal pose
purity paramount
my sweet feathered friend..........................
A trust reignited
blossoms so fragrant
hues sublime
my sweet feathered friend......
From high ground to low
spring to Autumn
Summer to winter
my sweet feathered friend................................
Each sunrise caresses
as sunsets mature
a heart that sings
my sweet feathered friend.......
An infants light footsteps
instinctive resilience
secrets to share
my sweet feathered friend...................
You laughter echoes
joys clear and free
pains so lifted
my sweet feathered friend...................
Treasures a-glistening
promises wondrous
young dreams recognised
my sweet feathered friend......................
Fresh goose pimpled flesh
a plethora of senses
strength in abundance
my sweet feathered friend........
A sight of amazement
bulldozed to the ground
nothing left standing
my sweet feathered friend......................
A rush so awesome
senses now elevated
my joys shine to heaven
my sweet feathered friend.........
A life now wholesome
an acceptance so whole
you belong in my heart
my sweet feathered friend........................
Embraced
A boundless joy
Heartbeats almost dancing
Emotions rekindled and clear
Carried on the tides of eternity
Precious and tender my feelings
Shared by the winds of time
Those deep echoes
Embraced
Tender are life's winds
Each precious dew drop glistens
Softness becomes strength.
Emotions now true
Deserved that elevation
To hope to believe.
Walk through each new day
Those moments oh so precious
Feel that soothing balm.
A momentum shared
The graceful winds of time heal
To share and to care.
I hope that you all enjoyed today's visit and maybe one day a home and this time a happy home may be built on what today is simply a pile of rubble of no significance whatsoever.
I wish you all a wonderful day and lots of love from my little corner of Wales.
Eddy.
